Don’t kill it yet!

The Lifestream does not appreciate anyone entering the Temple of the Ancients and attempts to stop Avalanche’s progress. After being separated from Aerith, Cloud must knock down a tower and obtain the cube placed on its top to make a path forward. One of the tower’s feet is already crumbling, and Tifa suggests that the team use a recently revived monster to break it. Ironclad is a challenging FF7 Rebirth boss since it is not weak against any element, and you must avoid killing the creature before you can stagger it.

FF7 Rebirth Staggering Ironclad Boss Guide

The best time to increase Ironclad’s Stagger Gauge in FF7 Rebirth is when the boss gets pressured after using Sharpen. I recommend playing as Tifa since she has some effective moves against this monster.

First of all, you must avoid attacking Ironclad when it is not pressured. I suggest unequipping any Auto Skill Materia from Cloud and Barret because you want to keep the creature alive as long as possible. Since you can’t hit the monster, you can build Tifa‘s ATB Gauge by blocking or evading the boss’ attacks.

When the monster uses the Sharpen move, you must immediately unleash Overpower. This attack can effectively pressure and stagger Ironclad in FF7 Rebirth and works well with Tifa’s other moves. Afterward, you can use Focused Strike, which can moderately increase Stagger.

Do note that Ironclad will only stay pressured for around ten seconds in FF7 Rebirth. When the word Pressured is gone from the boss’s Stagger Gauge, you must stop using powerful abilities and return to defending.

If you fail this FF7 Rebirth challenge, you can attempt staggering the Ironclad boss again by activating the tower. Just turn the mechanism and fill the Lifestream container to revive the monster.

Once the boss is staggered, the tower will fall, and you must take the chance to kill the creature. Luckily, it will remain immobilized, and you can unleash your full power to finally take down this creature.

The fallen cube from the tower will remain in the arena. After the Ironclad boss dies, you can throw this item off the opening to your left to create a path forward.
