In Diablo 4, the Necromancer can summon various minions to aid them in battle, including a beefy golem. Each summons—warriors, mages, and golems—is managed in the Book of the Dead tab menu, next to the skill trees when you level up. You can select one of three classes in each category with a perk that can boost you or the minions. While the first two categories are unlocked naturally, you have a few more steps for the golems. It might take some patience, but after this guide, you will see that it was worth the hard work to get the final minion to summon for the magic-based class.
How To Summon a Golem in Diablo 4
Necromancer players in Diablo 4 must reach level 25 before summoning a Golem. In your priority quests in your quest log will be Necromancer: Call of the Underworld, which puts you on the path for your final minion. First, you will go northwest of Menestad to find the Shrine of Rathma to start the quest. You will meet someone new, Maltorius, who needs 12 Unbroken Bones. Go around the highlighted vicinity to kill skeletons until you have the quest items. Return to the altar and speak with him to go to the next step.
The quest will take you to a nearby cave south of your current location. You will see at the end of the cave the Jar of Souls. Interact with it, then get to killing the hordes of enemies to gather souls. Once the progress bar is filled, Maltorius will meet with you once again by the Jar of Souls. Speak with him to complete the quest.
Unlike the other summons, the Golem in Diablo 4 is a skill like any other. While you would turn a corpse into a skeletal minion, the golem requires you to set it to assign it to a button. Once assigned, it will rise with an active ability to taunt enemies and reduce damage taken for six seconds. You can choose either Bone, Blood, or Iron for your desired skills. Bone is more of a tank that has perks to either gain a corpse whenever the golem loses 20% health, gain 10% max HP and 50% of your Thorns value, or sacrifice it for a 10% attack speed boost. Blood absorbs damage and reduces damage with perks to either absorb 15% of the damage you take, 25% damage reduction, and 25% damage increase when it is 80% or more HP or sacrifice it to increase your max HP by 10%. Iron is focused on AoE attacks with perks to either create a shockwave after every fifth attack, slam making enemies vulnerable for three seconds or sacrifice it to add 30% to your overall critical damage.
Diablo 4 is available on PS4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC.
