A training zone is pretty much a basic necessity for all hunting action games. After all, it’s a perfect place to try out weapons you’re unfamiliar with or test out newly crafted meta sets. You don’t have to chase down monsters and go through hoops just to finally learn the optimal Long Sword combo. Thankfully, you don’t need to unlock the Training Area in Monster Hunter Wilds; you just have to know where to find it.
Where Can You Find the Training Area in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Training Area is located inside the main Base Camps of each Monster Hunter Wilds‘ hunting region. As mentioned above, you don’t have to reach certain levels or beat a specific monster to unlock it. Just head over to said place, and you can start practicing moves against a stationary dummy.
For example, during the beta, you can find the Training Area in the back of the Base Camp. The entrance is close to the sand-sailing boat — also called the Dragonship in the lore.
- From the Windward Plains Base Camp, turn around.
- Keep walking straight until you reach the Dragonship.
- Turn to your right.
- The Training Area entrance can be seen lit up by torches. It looks like a cave entrance with a cloth canopy on top.
There’s no doubt that there will be other Training Areas in Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, and Iceshard Cliffs. We will update this article once the full game has been released.

Once you’re inside the Training Area, you’ll be introduced to the High Purrformance Barrel Puncher target dummy. Speak to Luke the Meownagaer or open the menu from the ‘Missions & Settings’ tab to adjust the dummy to your heart’s content. If you need to practice Power Clash and Offset Attacks, you can tweak its attack pattern. If you need to see how optimized your meta sets are, its hitzones and wound attributes can be changed as well.
Now you know how to find and use the Training Area in Monster Hunter Wilds. After that, how about practicing and mastering how Focus Mode works?
