Since Borderlands 4 features a vast open world to explore, going around it on foot would become a bit tedious. For that reason, Borderlands 4 has included many vehicles that players can unlock by completing a few quests and meeting some criteria. If you want to leave that good old digi-runner on the site and get that vehicle drip out in Kairos, below is a list of how to unlock every vehicle in the game.
All Vehicles List

Vehicle | Unlock Conditions |
---|---|
Digirunner | Complete the “Down and Outbound” quest. |
Driftblade | Complete the “Rush the Gate” quest. |
Carapacer | Complete the “Hise Vile Sanctum” quest. |
Punchy Whoopster | Complete the “Finisher Her Flaming Vision” quest. |
Sprintcraft | Complete “The Timekeeper’s Order” quest. |
Fang Glider | Complete the “Another Day, Another Universe” quest. |
Skimmer | Reach level 50 as Vex. |
Rockslider | Reach Level 50 as Amon. |
Gyrosled | Reach Level 50 as Harlowe. |
Pulsor | Reach Level 50 as Rafa. |
If you’re a collector, you should know that the first six vehicles in Borderlands 4 are pretty easy to obtain. All you need to do is play through the main story. You’ll eventually unlock all those rides. Also, you will get the seventh one by leveling up your first character to level 50, which also happens just by focusing on the main story. You can speed this up by grabbing contracts or doing side quests, but the main story should be more than enough.
After that, you’ll have to start a new game with another Vault Hunter in the newly unlocked difficulty mode to level them up to 50. If you do so, you’ll also get a Trophy/Achievement. However, keep in mind that it might be a long grind for the last three Vault Hunters.
Can You Customize Vehicles?
Just like Vault Hunters in Borderlands 4, vehicles also have a few customization options, ranging from paint jobs to Hover Drive. You can obtain the latter by completing challenges. These items will enhance your digi-runner’s functionality, making it faster and even more deadly when traversing through Kairos.
There’s also an option to upgrade your Hover Drives, which requires killing enemies while using weapons from a specific manufacturer. For instance, if you want to upgrade your Torgue Hover Drive, you need to use Torgue weapons.
