Can’t get enough of how Ella Purnell effortlessly embraced the role of Lucy in Fallout? Well, you can now witness her in the video game world. The free-to-play Fallout Shelter recently included an update to promote the thrilling Amazon series, and with that comes the opportunity to unlock Lucy MacLean. It’s not even difficult, so players new and old can enjoy this fun crossover. Note: this update is only available for the mobile version. There’s no word if the other platforms will also get the update.

Lucy MacLean can join your Vault based on a specific quest, but when you see that quest depends on when you started playing Fallout Shelter. If you already made your Vault and had the Overseer Office before the update, once you download said update, you should automatically see the quest “A Pier Into the Future” show up.

For those of you who jumped into Fallout Shelter after, then you won’t see it until you meet the following conditions:

  • Build the Overseer Office (unlocks after getting 18 Dwellers)
  • Complete the tutorial quest
  • Fully complete a second quest

It took me to knock out one of the single quests (e.g. weekly quest) rather than an extended questline to unlock the mission for Lucy in Fallout Shelter.

“A Pier Into the Future” is one of eight missions in the overall questline “Power Struggle.” Thankfully, we only need to complete the first one to bring Lucy into our Fallout Shelter Vault. Once the quest is unlocked, join it as you would any other. The minimum level requirement scales to you. On my run, I only needed Dwellers at a minimum Level 10.

There’s plenty of fighting to reach our sweet Lucy MacLean, so bring your best gear so your Dwellers make it to her. But she’s more than worth it. After you fight your way to her, she’ll express surprise at how well you handled the creatures and ask if she can join up. The quest technically ends here, but you can always stick around for more loot. From there, simply return to the Fallout Shelter Vault when you’re done, and Lucy will be waiting.

A great thing about Lucy is that she joins at a high level with a solid outfit and weapon. You can put her to work immediately to take advantage of her strong stats. Or you can have her help out the Vault in the ways she prepped for at the beginning of the show. You know, before all that awful violence happened.

Fallout Shelter is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices.
