One of the new and exciting aspects of Destiny 2: Season of the Witch is the Lectern of Divination after it’s unlocked. Unlocking the Lectern of Divination requires the completion of an introductory quest into the Season of the Witch, Toil and Trouble. The quest is only six steps long, but each step leads you toward unlocking and explaining the Lectern of Divination and the Ritual Table. The Lectern of Divination is an important seasonal mechanic we’ll use quite often. Ready to learn how to unlock the Lectern of Divination in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch?

Unlocking the Lectern of Divination

Unlocking the Lectern of Divination in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch requires completing the Toil and Trouble quest. However, as soon as you log into the game after the Season of the Witch has begun, you will already have the quest in your quest log and can start immediately.

Step 1: Complete The Way of the Witch

This step requires you to complete The Way of the Witch mission. It’s a relatively simple mission, but it can take a while, especially if you’re running it solo. As you journey into Savathun’s Throne World and uncover its secrets, you’ll be faced with many strong enemies. We suggest using the new Ex Diris Exotic Grenade Launcher on your path to unlocking the Lectern of Divination in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch.

Step 2: Complete Savathun’s Spire

This step requires you to reveal the secrets of the Hive, hidden by the illusions of Savathun’s Spire. You can access Savathun’s Spire by heading into the H.E.L.M. in the Destinations tab of your Director.

When you enter Savathun’s Spire, you’ll be required to go in with a full Fireteam, so this one can be easier than The Way of the Witch with the right teammates.

Step 3: Open the Portal

For the third step, you’ll investigate the portal in the Southern wing of the H.E.L.M. As you enter the H.E.L.M., you’ll notice that the waypoint directs you to the back of the area, down a set of stairs, and into a strange-looking room. Approach the large portal and use the prompted button to interact with it. Behind the portal you will finally unlock the Lectern of Divination.

Step 4: Contact Eris

This step will take you into Savathun’s Throne World and to the Athenaeum where you can speak to Eric Morn. This will, of course, be after her transformation into Witch Queen 2.0. In the center of the area, there is an area that is marked by a waypoint that you can interact with to begin the cutscene where you speak with Eris.

Step 5: Visit the Lectern of Divination in the Athenaeum

Step Five keeps you in the same location that you found Eris Morn. However, after completing the cutscene where you speak with Eris, you must turn around and head toward a couple of tables near you. The table on the left will be the Lectern of Divination. Approach and interact with it.

Step 6: Visit the Ritual Table in the Athenaeum

The final step only requires visiting the table opposite the Lectern of Divination. Once you’ve done interacting with the Lectern of Divination, you should turn around to find the other table behind you. Approach it and interact with the Ritual Table to complete Toil and Trouble.
