This feature is a staple of every expansion in FFXIV, and involves farming specific Treasure Maps via gathering nodes or the Market Board.
Once acquired, the map must be deciphered to locate a spot in the overworld. Using the dig function at this location will spawn a series of monsters to defeat. After a few waves, there is a chance that a portal will spawn to take you into a dungeon. However, it is important to note that a portal does not always spawn.
Stormblood‘s two main Treasure Map dungeons are called the Lost Canals of Uznair and the Shifting Canals of Uznair. Entering either of these through a lucky portal will place you in a room with a treasure chest. The goal of these dungeons is to defeat waves of enemies or a boss to get the loot from the chest and then pick between two doors in the room to either proceed to another one or get expelled from the dungeon, ending the run.

- Obtain a Timeworn Gazelleskin Map from the Market Board or a level 70 Gathering Node in Stormblood zones.
- Decipher the location and get a lucky dungeon portal to spawn after defeating waves of enemies there.
- Obtain a rare drop called Timeworn Thief’s Map from the treasure chests in the Lost Canals of Uznair or Shifting Canals of Uznair Treasure Map dungeon.
- Decipher the location in the overworld to spawn a portal to enter The Hidden Canals of Uznair Treasure Map dungeon.
Once inside, you will proceed through the dungeon like the previous ones. After defeating the enemies in the room and looting the chest, you will now select between three doors to proceed instead of two options, meaning you now have a 33% chance to make the correct choice instead of 50%.
The “deepest sluice” means you must pick the correct door multiple times until you reach the final chamber. This is the seventh room total in the dungeon. The Deeper End IV achievement has you making it to this room 20 times in total. Needless to say, this is an incredibly difficult unlock and involves a ton of luck. Many players can go months to years without ever making it to the final chamber a single time.
Completing the Hidden Canals of Uznair Treasure Map Dungeon
However, if you are persistent enough, you will eventually earn the Luckiest of Ladies (Lords) achievement in FFXIV. Furthermore, the process has become a bit easier as the Stormblood Treasure Map dungeons are level 70 content. Going into the Hidden Canals of Uznair as a level 90 job or a level 80 Blue Mage makes it much simpler. You only need a friend or two to have little difficulty with the enemies inside.
