FFXIV 6.5 has arrived, and as usual, it brings a plethora of content for players to participate in. One of the most anticipated things of every major patch is the addition of new instances, such as dungeons, raids, and trials. For the former, though, there’s a new dungeon that fans of Final Fantasy 4 might recognize. If not, those who’ve stuck to the MMO’s lore will also have a great time when delving into it. That’s why we’ve prepared a guide to show you how to unlock the Lunar Subterrane dungeon in FFXIV 6.5.

As with many other dungeons and raids in the game, the Lunar Subterrane instance is tied to the Main Scenario Quests of FFXIV 6.5. This means that even if you’re at the max item level, you’ll still need to complete a few quests before trying this new content. Still, we’ve made a list of the requirements you need to explore this new creepy place:

  • Finish 6.5 MSQ until “Down in the Dark.”
  • Achieve an item level of 620 or higher.
  • Optional: Finish the Eden questline for some extra lore tidbits.

And that’s practically everything you must do to unlock the new dungeon of FFXIV‘s last major patch.

While previous patches have done the new content available during the first quests, this one is different. Those who want to unlock the Lunar Subterrane dungeon in FFXIV 6.5 must finish 4 lengthy quests first, but the rewards are that new instance and the new trial, too. So, start gearing your character up and gather your party members to delve into the dark side of the moon of another world. Undoubtedly, this patch brings a lot of things that will set up the journey to the new lands in the upcoming Dawntrail expansion, so don’t skip the cutscenes and pay attention to every detail.

Also, if you want to check a guide for the dungeon, here’s a video by Xenosys Vex, one of the first to do this new instance.
