Throwing Star is Warzone 2, and MW2 is a new lethal that players can use in their loadouts. The Throwing Star works just like what you’ve seen in the Ninja games and movies, and it was introduced in the previous Warzone 2 and MW2 seasons. However, you need to do a certain challenge to unlock Throwing Star, and here’s how you can obtain this item in Season 3 Reloaded.
The Throwing Star Challenge Lethal in Warzone 2 and MW2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone 1 introduced a new lethal aside from the Frag Grenades and Semtexes in the game, and it was the Throwing Knife. Players could instantly kill enemy operators using this weapon, and it required pro aiming to hit a target with it. Now this lethal is a part of the Warzone 2 and MW2‘s loadout setup as well. However, we have a new competitor for it: Ninja Stars! or just the Throwing Star.
You can obtain this lethal equipment by getting 50 operator kills using only the throwing knife. This means that you can not play the DMZ mode and throw knives at the AI targets and consider the challenge to be done. This item needs grinding, and you can achieve it freely in both MW2 and Warzone 2.
For Modern Warfare 2 Players: You can jump into the Shipment 24/7 mode and play some close-quarter fights in chaos. This mode allows you to get at least 10 to 20 kills using the throwing knife only and unlock the Throwing Star in MW2 to use in both the Multiplayer loadouts and Warzone 2.
For Warzone 2 Players: Getting a direct operator kill with throwing knives in Warzone 2 Battle Royal is not a common thing. You can finish off the knocked players with it, but it doesn’t count as a kill for the Throwing Star challenge in Warzone 2. However, you can play the Plunder mode and get as many kills as you want without the worry of redeployment.

Sure, you can play the Resurgence to unlock the Throwing Star in Warzone 2 as well. But this mode has some very competitive gameplay, and if you’re not accurate enough with your knives, you may have to play lots of hours trying to get 50 kills. Keep in mind that you can find Throwing Star on Ashika Island as ground loot. However, it will not unlock this lethal for you to select in the loadout. You also can not unlock this lethal by getting it from a friend in DMZ.
