Like any new FFXIV expansion, Dawntrail brings new playable jobs: Viper and Pictomancer. The former is a melee DPS, while the latter is a magical ranged DPS. Since these jobs start at level 80, many players might want to start leveling them up quickly or even use them as they go through Endwalker‘s MSQ. Regardless of what you want to do with them, unlocking them doesn’t hurt. As long as you own the expansion and have any job at level 80, you should be good to go.

How To Unlock Viper
Let’s begin with the poster job. To unlock Viper in FFXIV Dawntrail, players must reach level 80 and register Dawntrail for their account. Once that’s done, you can start the quest “Enter the Viper” by heading to Ul’dah and speaking with the Worried Weaver. You can find the NPC at coordinates (X: 9.3, Y: 9.2). If you want to level this job as fast as possible, we recommend buying Cryptlurker Scouting gear, as it shares the same equipment as Ninja. For accessories, stick to the Aiming ones since those are the ones the Scouting jobs use.
How To Unlock Pictomancer
The requirements for unlocking Pictomancer in FFXIV Dawntrail are the same as those for Viper. You need to reach level 80 with any job and purchase Dawntrail. However, you’ll head for greener pastures, literally. Future Pictomancers can grab the quest “The Joy of Pictomancy” at Old Gridania by speaking to the Cheerless Hearer. You can find them at coordinates (X: 8.0, Y: 10, 3). If you want to equip your Pictomancer with the ideal gear, start buying Cryptlurker Casting armor and accessories.
Similar to previous expansions, once you unlock Viper and Pictomancer in FFXIV Dawntrail, you must level them all the way to level 90 before using them for the most recent expansion. Dungeon grinding, Wondrous Tails, and Bozja should be good options to level these jobs quickly. Also, remember to unlock your Allied Society Quests (formerly known as Tribal Quests) to get a lot of experience daily.
