How to Upgrade Your Cauldron in Valheim

In Valheim, what you put in your belly is just as important as the equipment you wear, and an upgraded Cauldron will ensure you have the most nutritious meals ready for consumption. By default, the Cauldron can be used to cook a decent range of recipes, from simple Carrot Soup to the Mead Base for brewing Frost Resistance Mead. However, a Cauldron with upgrades will have access to new and more potent recipes, such as Muckshake, Wolf Skewer, and the Mushroom Omelette. Additionally, some higher-tier recipes in Valheim are made to be placed in the Stone Oven, like the Uncooked Meat Platter or the Unbaked Lox Pie. 

Cauldron Ugrade Structures in Valheim

Upgrading the Cauldron in Valheim involves assembling specific structures and placing them within the vicinity of the cooking station. For instance, to upgrade a Cauldron to Level 2, you will need to craft a Spice Rack and place it near the cooking pot to unlock the upgrade’s corresponding recipes.

  • Fine Wood × 4 — Drops from Birch and Oak trees in the Meadows and Plains
  • Silver × 2 — Forged at a Smelter using Silver Ore mined from deposits in the Mountains
4Pots & Pans
  • Iron × 5 — Harvested from Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts
  • Copper × 5 — Forged at a Smelter using Copper Ore mined from deposits in the Black Forest
  • Black Metal × 5 — Forged at a Blast Furnace using Black Metal Scrap dropped by Fulings or looted from their Chests in the Plains
  • Fine Wood × 10 — Drops from Birch and Oak trees in the Meadows and Plains
5Mortar & Pestle

  • Black Marble × 8 — Harvested from Giant Remains and structures found within the Mistlands

  • Fine Wood × 6 — Drops from Birch and Oak trees in the Meadows and Plains
