Using potions in Hogwarts Legacy can be a great way to turn the tides of battle in your favor quickly. After taking your Potions class and learning how to make these powerful buffs, you will have new weapons at your disposal that you can quickly become acclimated with and make in bunches in the Room of Requirement. That said, there is a particular moment where you need to use two at the same time, and the game doesn’t explain how you can drink multiple at once. Here is how to use potions simultaneously in Hogwarts Legacy.

How To Use Maxima and Edurus Potions Simultaneously in Hogwarts Legacy

(Updated on September 30, 2024 – updated links and format)

Your first assignment from Professor Sharp in Hogwarts Legacy will give you the opportunity to learn the Depulso spell, which can help you complete various trials and puzzles. All you need to do is complete two tasks:

  • Acquire and use a Focus Potion
  • Acquire Maxima and Edurus Potions, and use them simultaneously

While the wording used in that second task seems like the game wants you to drink both potions at one time, it is actually a little misleading. Really, all you need to do is have both potions’ effect on you at the same time. One will increase your defense, while the other makes your spells do more damage.

First, to make your own Maxima Potion, you need at least one Leech Juice and Spider Fang. Look around water areas and defeat spiders for these. For Edurus Potions, you need Ashwinder Eggs and Mongrel Fur. The eggs can be found in nests around mountainous areas and defeat the wolf-like creatures in the wild for the fur.

After you have at least one of both potions, all you need to do is equip one, drink it, and then equip the other to drink it. Both potions last for only 20 seconds, so you have plenty of time to swap between them and get the benefits. It would make the most sense to do this while you are in combat, but you can do it while walking around the open world if you want to just get the assignment done.

After you have finished the assignment, return to Professor Sharp in the Potions class and let him know you are done. He will teach you the Depulso spell, which will be useful as you play Hogwarts Legacy. Be sure to use it for many upcoming quests.
