The primary mechanic of Destiny 2: Season of the Witch is the Lectern of Divination, but how do you use it? We’re here to help you get it all figured out. From finding the Lectern of Divination and Ritual Table to learning how to get more Insight, what the Deck of Whispers is, the Opaque Cards, and much more. The Lectern of Divination is a new and exciting point of interest, so learning about it will be essential in your journey through the Season of the Witch. Let’s take a closer look at how to use the Lectern of Divination in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch.

The place where you will find both the Lectern of Divination and the Ritual table is hidden within a portal in the Southern wing of the H.E.L.M. The portal leads into the Athenaeum, an area of Savathun’s Throne World in which Eris Morn has taken up residence.

The Ritual Table is where you’ll build up your reputation, decoding Seasonal Engrams and earning rewards. You can pick up Rank Rewards and Bounties and even mess around with your Focusing at the Ritual Table.

The Lectern of Divination, however, is just as important. It’s where you’ll view your Deck of Whispers. You’ll obtain buffs and build a deck of awesome cards that can entirely alter your gameplay and reward you with resources and upgrades.

Obtaining new cards for your Deck of Whispers at the Lectern of Divination isn’t explained well in-game at all. You must obtain more Opaque Cards and reveal them using Insight. You can find Opaque Cards by getting rewards in the Ritual Table, picking them up in Seasonal Activities, and even finding one hiding behind a tree within the Athenaeum. You can also get Opaque Cards from chests within the Altars of Summoning. Opaque Cards can be revealed to show Major or Minor Arcana cards.

What Do Major Arcana and Minor Arcana Cards Do?

Major Arcana cards are the ones that will determine the effects your Deck of Whispers has on your gameplay and, therefore, the most important. There are 12 Major Arcana cards in total, though you can only have 5 of them in your Deck of Whispers at a time.

Minor Arcana cards are a bit different. Minor Arcana cards allow you to collect resources, Witch’s Keys, upgrades, and more at the Lectern of Divination.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
