It’s hard to believe that it has been almost six years since the launch of Destiny 2 in 2017. The constant supply of new content from Bungie has kept the game fresh, and that is certainly not changing any time soon. Bungie has already teased the release of Destiny 2’s next major expansion, The Final Shape, and fans are hyped! The exact details of next year’s DLC will be fully revealed on August 22nd during the Destiny 2 2023 showcase.
How To Watch the August 2023 Destiny 2 Showcase
There are a few places to watch the showcase, including below, right here on The Nerd Stash! Otherwise, you can view it via the official Destiny 2 Youtube channel. At the moment, that is the only platform confirmed to be streaming the showcase. It is, however, safe to assume that Bungie will also stream the event on their Twitch and Bilibili channels, as they did last year.
The broadcast will begin at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. If the showcase is anything like last year’s, it will likely be 3 to 4 hours long.
What To Expect From the Destiny 2 Showcase
We know for certain that Bungie is set to reveal the full details of next year’s The Final Shape DLC. While information regarding the expansion is limited, The Final Shape is set to bring Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness storyline to an end. Thankfully, the teaser trailer for the DLC confirmed that Cayde-6 will be returning front-and-center, along with his original voice actor.
Fans should be getting an official release date for The Final Shape as well. Though, it will almost certainly be launched in February 2024. You can also expect Bungie to give us a look at season 22, which should be dropping shortly after the livestream. Despite the rather disappointing results of 2023’s Lightfall, things are looking bright for Destiny 2 fans!
