After learning of his father’s cancer diagnosis straight from the horse’s mouth, Prince Harry has spoken out in an interview with Good Morning America regarding King Charles III’s health concerns. I love my family,” Prince Harry said. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
Harry Confirms He Will Frequently Visit His Father
“I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could,” Harry confirmed. Us Weekly reported on February 6 that Harry had taken the trip from Los Angeles to London in order to see King Charles III.
Harry failed to provide specific details regarding Charles’ health but stated that he would return to London soon.
“I’ve got other trip plans that will take me through the U.K., or back to the U.K.,” he said. “So, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
It was announced on February 5 that His Majesty had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, although the exact ailment is still unknown. It was discovered during treatment for an enlarged prostate, although sources have confirmed it is not prostate cancer.
Buckingham Palace assured that King Charles III “remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
Father-Son Estrangement and Cancer Details
Despite Prince Harry and King Charles III having differences and not always seeing eye to eye, Harry reassures everyone that he still loves his father. Charles’ recent health scare might even bridge a gap between the two as Harry promises to visit frequently.
“We often see in families, incidents like this bridge a gap,” said royal expert Gareth Russell. “Cancer is nothing to be taken lightly and maybe it puts into perspective quarrels and fights that you’ve had before.”
Harry and Charles have been estranged since the Prince stepped down from his royal duties after relocating to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.
Right now, there has been no further word regarding the severity of King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis nor information regarding his indefinite abstinence from public events.
