Rapper Bad Bunny has made headlines because of his scheduled performance at the 2026 Super Bowl in California, with Trump supporters none too happy about his upcoming appearance. If the backlash and call for football fans to boycott the big sports event wasn’t enough, now ICE agents are planning to attend. And it goes without saying that they aren’t there to cheer on the teams.
According to TMZ, ICE has promised to show up to the 2026 Super Bowl. A source for a Trump advisor told the news outlet that “There is no safe haven for violent criminal illegal aliens in the United States.” It’s no secret that Bad Bunny has been outspoken about his fear of ICE raids at his concerts, especially with how aggressive the department has been since Trump’s inauguration. And now, it appears his worst has come true, with agents readying to storm Levi’s Stadium come February 2026.
The Puerto Rican rapper has been known to be critical of the Trump administration and the unreasonable policies on immigrants across the US. Naturally, the MAGA crowd has retaliated in kind, with influential right-wing conservatives like Megyn Kelly calling out the artist for performing and even going as far as to compare him to the imprisoned celebrity, Diddy. Trump supporters feel like Bad Bunny’s attendance is an attack on their values and feel as though the NFL has betrayed its MAGA audience.
ICE Is Intimidating Bad Bunny or the NFL to Take Action
Regardless of whether ICE actually plans to raid the Super Bowl stadium in California, it’s clear that this is a scare tactic to the rapper, with hopes that he could back out. On the other hand, it could also be a direct threat to the NFL, forcing it to choose someone else as a replacement to avoid trouble with ICE agents. One online Reddit user commented on how it’s unlikely the NFL will back out, considering how detrimental it would be if the organization’s TV spot advertisement deals were boycotted. The commenter sarcastically concluded, “You know what? They should definitely back out. I need to see the backlash. This needs to happen.”
“Exactly,” remarked another user in response. “Just let the Whitehouse dig its own hole. Everyone just remain calm and don’t fall for their traps.” Just a week or so ago, Jimmy Kimmel was canceled by the White House because of his remark on MAGA using Charlie Kirk’s death as a means of propaganda. But now, the late-night show host is back in full force, challenging anything and everything President Trump has to say or do, even regarding his body weight. Perhaps, fans believe the same could happen with the Bad Bunny situation, but only time will tell when the Super Bowl draws closer next year.
