An Illinois ICE agent allegedly threatened to kill a person who was filming him during an immigration enforcement operation near Chicago. The short video shows the agent getting close to the person filming and ordering them to stand back before the exchange takes a disturbing turn.
The roughly 22-second video shows several federal agents in tactical gear standing near dark SUVs. Their clothing identifies them as Federal Officer Police Fugitive Operations, and some agents have ERO patches and body cameras. One agent walks toward the person filming and stares directly into the camera.
He then tells the person, “You know better! Stand back!”
The person filming asks, “You gonna kill me if I don’t?” The agent responds, “I will! — If you interfere I will!” The video then ends. The footage does not show what happened before or after the exchange.
The video was shared on Instagram by @ben_jamin_music__ and later reshared on X by @LongTimeHistory.
The original post also connects the agent to a separate September 20 incident in Evanston, Illinois. According to the post, ICE agents mistakenly detained a U.S. citizen during that incident and injured him while trying to take him into custody. The man reportedly told the agents several times that he was a U.S. citizen before they released him.
The post claims the same agent appeared in both incidents, but that connection has not been independently confirmed.
Internet Reacts to Illinois ICE Agent Threat Video
The comments focused heavily on the agent’s alleged threat and the way he confronted the person filming. One commenter went as far as calling for force against agents who threaten U.S. citizens, writing, ““ICE agents” that threaten American citizens should be neutralized using force. End of story.”
Another commenter focused on the agent’s appearance and made a harsh personal judgment, writing, “U can tell that he has no soul just by looking at his eyes. Buddie has a special place reserved for him in hell.” A third commenter accused the agent of enjoying violence, writing, “He has such a hard-on for beating and the opportunity to kill.”
Not everyone used such extreme language. One commenter criticized the agent’s conduct while focusing on how officers should handle confrontations, writing, “That’s very unprofessional behavior from the officer. There are better and more respectful ways to respond to situations like this.”
Another commenter connected the incident to the current political climate, writing, “Just another Tuesday in Trump’s America. Thanks to the GOP Congress, ICE has billions to spend, but has no rules and follows no rules. You can change that in November.”
According to analysis of ICE data obtained via FOIA and published by the Deportation Data Project, arrests leading to detention in Illinois rose from 181 in July 2025 to 352 in July 2026, a 94.5% increase.
