A woman in Chicago, Illinois, called a man a “pervert” for allegedly approaching and trying to talk to her 15-year-old daughter. As seen in her clip, the man excused himself, saying the minor looked older than she actually was, and, when confronted, apologized.
TikTok user kei22805 (Kei) shared the clip of the confrontation online. While she regularly posts lifestyle and family content, the video involving the man quickly went viral. In just two days, it garnered 2.4 million views, 486,000 likes, and 4,500 comments, becoming Kei’s biggest TikTok.
The unnamed man had tried to talk to and make her 15-year-old daughter come to his car while she was wearing pink clothes, the Illinois woman said in a follow-up clip. The girl was feeling uncomfortable, and then she told her mother once they met up.
Kei said she had no intention of confronting the man, but her daughter quickly pointed out that the man’s car was nearby. The mother then pulled over next to him and started yelling at him.
Expletive-Filled Confrontation
From the clip, it appears the man argued that Kei’s daughter was older than 15. Kei, however, pushed back against this narrative and even got him to admit that she didn’t look older after an expletive-filled beratement. This was supported by a clip of her young daughter shown later in the TikTok. She definitely looked her age.
“Somebody gotta go get her some mace because grown [expletive] [slur] like this wanna tell her to come to the [expletive] car,” the Illinois woman said.
Eventually, Kei drove off, telling the man she was going to bring her husband to handle the situation and that she had noted his license plate.
In the follow-up clip, the woman revealed that the man’s family had asked her to take it down. However, she also said that she had received messages from other girls and women who accused him of approaching them when they were minors.
Online Backlash
The video sparked multiple heated responses.
Some users blasted the man, with one viewer writing, “That man knew what he was doing!” Others felt sorry for Kei and her teen daughter, with one user commenting, “I’m so sorry y’all had to deal with this.”
The overwhelming majority of viewers, however, praised the Illinois woman for her reaction. One user said, “This is my first impression of you, and it’s a wonderful first impression.” Another one added, “I think you’re amazing.”
The alleged harassment of minors, of course, leads to an immediate backlash online. As a result, clips such as Kei’s go viral, and those responsible end up exposed by the internet’s scrutiny. Kei made a third video in which she thanked everyone who showed their support. She was, again, called an “amazing mother.”
