An Illinois mother confronted a female driver after she allegedly hit a CTA bus that was carrying her children. The incident happened in Chicago after the driver allegedly crashed her SUV into the side of a CTA bus. At least 12 people were reportedly hospitalized following the crash. ABC7 Chicago initially shared footage of the incident, which showed the scene from the air.

The mother later shared a video she filmed while confronting the female driver. She wrote over the video, “Don’t make no sense,” and the footage was viewed by more than 23 million people. In the video, the mother filmed the driver, who appeared teary-eyed while surrounded by several people.

When the driver noticed that the mother was filming her, she told her to stop recording. The mother then became angry and told her, “Girl shut the [expletive] up with all that [expletive] [expletive] you just did.” Other bystanders at the scene attempted to defend the driver, but the mother remained upset and said that she did not care.

“[Expletive], she hit my kids. My kids in here,” the mother told a bystander. She continued yelling, saying that her children were not okay and claiming that the driver had hit the bus in the area where her kids were sitting. “[Expletive], she hit my kids. [Expletive] is wrong with you,” she added while filming the vehicle and showing the area where it had struck the bus.

The mother continued filming while yelling that her children were inside the bus. She then got onto the bus and showed that her kids had been sitting near the side where the crash occurred. “Just hit my [expletive] kids,” she said. The rest of the video showed her continuing to yell and question how the driver could have hit the bus like that. She also said that she had to grab her baby. Toward the end of the video, someone could be heard asking whether anyone on the bus needed a paramedic. It was unclear whether the mother asked someone to check on her children or whether she confronted the driver again.

Viewers Side With Illinois Mother After Confronting Driver

The majority of viewers sided with the Illinois mother. They believed her anger was understandable given that her children were on the bus. Many were also shocked by how the driver had crashed into the CTA bus. “How you hit a whole bus [expletive]?” one person wrote. Others questioned why some bystanders were defending the driver, with another person asking, “Why are they babying her?”

More viewers applauded the mother for confronting the driver. Some believed that the bystanders were treating the driver as the victim despite her allegedly causing the crash. “im glad u said somethin.. they were actin like she was the victim when she was the one at fault,” one person wrote. Another person said, “I’m so glad you cursed her out immediately.” Someone else added, “Those poor babies must’ve been so scared omg.”

The crash left viewers discussing the responsibility drivers have to remain attentive and avoid putting others in danger. Many also emphasized the importance of accountability when a driver’s actions allegedly put passengers and other road users at risk.
