Crashing out over food seems like a trend as of lately, but what happens when it is justified? Well, a woman in Chicago, Illinois, presumably tried to order some chicken at a KFC drive-thru, only for her to be treated rudely by the worker. The reason? There was a major confusion over menu numbering.
The brief, albeit heated, interaction between customer and worker was shared by TikTok user lovelymiyaaa (Miya). The woman recording the incident was at a KFC drive-thru, and both she and the worker were already fed up with each other.
“Listen to this dumb [expletive],” Miya said. Meanwhile, the KFC worker refused to engage with her, saying repeatedly, “Have a good one.”
Apparently, Miya was trying to order Spicy Chicken Littles, or the number 14, according to the visible KFC menu. However, the employee apparently corrected her by saying that she meant the number 15, adding that it is the number for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
However, as seen in the video, the number 15 is actually the Chicken Pot Pie. Therefore, to prevent a major order mix-up, Miya clarified that she meant the two Spicy Chicken Littles, or a number 14. The worker reportedly got defensive and said that she knows the correct numbering and it isn’t what Miya is claiming it to be.
Still in the drive-thru, Miya went off on the Illinois KFC worker, and one by one, she started to read the menu out loud. She said, “13, Classic. 14, Spicy. 14, two Chicken Littles. 15, Pot Pie. 16, Famous Bowl.”
Crash Out Ends, Reactions
Miya continued, alleging that the worker told her she was slow and she needed to learn how to read. Then, she said that this specific KFC restaurant has the “worst [expletive] in here, period.”
Finally, Miya said she didn’t have the time to go to Wendy’s and that she, in fact, knew how to read. The worker remained silent.
The TikTok clip garnered millions of views, hundreds of thousands of likes, and thousands of user comments. Most of them were left in shock over such a ridiculous argument, seeing as the menu board clearly aligned with what Miya was saying.
“She working for the wrong kinda check,” one user wrote. Another one said, “How she gonna tell you what you seeing with your own eyes.” A third one added, “I wouldn’t eat there after that read. They gone play in your food.”
Hopefully, this Illinois customer will have time to go to Wendy’s next time around.
