A man on vacation says that “Texas is so weird” after being involved in what he says was a “racist” confrontation. When a man accused him of being too close to him and in his personal space, he decided to speak up. It led to an infuriating back-and-forth between the two.
Thurzday (@oneofthejoneses) went to a Stuckey’s rest stop for some food while visiting Texas. While there, he grabbed his food and went to the cash register to pay. A man randomly told Thurzday he didn’t “want him in his space” and started an argument. He also added that he would “wreck him” if he didn’t get out of his personal space. Thurzday figured that this was an act of racism and decided to record the entire confrontation, with customers standing in line.
When he starts recording, the man tells him to “do something” and tells him he can punch him. Thurzday calls him a “dirty white man,” to which the man responds, “I’m a Caucasian, sir.” The man listens to Thurzday berating him and then asks, “Why are you so close to me in public?” He then whips out his phone to record the confrontation.
The two fight back-and-forth, and the conversation eventually ends, but it’s clear it didn’t end in a fistfight. Thurzday said in the caption to his video that he “stood his ground” against this man and his alleged racism. He added, “Welcome to Texas!”
