A Texas woman is going viral after filming a heated confrontation at a trampoline park, where another mother told her family to “go back to Mexico” during an argument over their kids. The video has sparked a debate over whether the creator’s furious response was the right way to handle blatant racism, or whether it let the other woman get exactly the reaction she wanted.
TikTok user @maychairez1819 says the incident started as a birthday celebration before spiraling into a screaming match that drew in staff and other customers.
According to May’s caption, the trouble began when an older boy shoved her 5-year-old nephew. When May’s sister approached the boy and told him to keep his hands to himself, she says he responded with cuss words and pointed them toward his mother.
That’s when things escalated. May’s sister confronted the woman about her son’s behavior, but says she was met with a dismissive response. “Get out of my face, you Spanish, you Mexicans,” the woman allegedly said.
The video picks up from there, capturing the two sides screaming at each other. “Yeah, you can go back to Mexico,” the woman can be heard saying. May didn’t hold back. “We ain’t even from Mexico. We’re from here,” she shot back.
As the argument intensified, staff stepped in and asked both parties to leave. The Texas creator didn’t agree with the decision but says she accepted it so the day wouldn’t be completely ruined. “It was my son’s birthday and this wasn’t going to stop us from celebrating,” she wrote.
The Comment Section Weighs In
Plenty of commenters were fully behind May’s reaction, framing it as a justified response to overt racism. “I’m so glad you let her have it,” one person wrote. Others pointed out the irony of the comment itself. “Next time a white person says for you to go back to Mexico, you tell them to take their boat back to Europe,” one user suggested.
Not everyone agreed, though. Some argued that the real win would have been to stay calm. “She controlled your emotions so you lost this interaction,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Y’all gotta stop giving these people a big reaction because that’s what they’re looking for. I promise you they’ll get more mad if you laugh and taunt them.”
A few viewers were less focused on May’s response and more critical of the Texas park’s handling of the situation,”Why kick both parties out when clearly she was being racist,” one person asked.
Others used the comment section to vent about racism they see everywhere, not just in this video.”I’m so sick of the racism from all sides. We’re all humans at the end of the day,” one person wrote.
Whether they agreed with her response or not, most viewers seemed to land on the same point. Racially charged comments like this aren’t limited to what gets recorded and posted online, and unfortunately, they’re becoming all too common.
