A Washington woman parked in a parking lot that was being sold in Seattle. While parked there, a condo owner nearby came out to confront her. According to him, she wasn’t permitted to be there. This led to a confrontation and an alleged assault as he put his hands on her.
Lai (@iamlai.lane) parked in a parking lot across from a Condo building. In the parking lot, there was a “Lot Available” sign, as the property is for sale. When she came back to her vehicle, she found tow stickers on her windshield. On top of that, an employee at the condo building came through the doors and started marching toward her.
The condo employee started yelling at her and walking toward her, yelling, “Get off the property!” Lai tried to explain that she was parked on available land and that it’s not his property. He told her he would remove her from the property if she didn’t leave, and she tells him he can’t touch her. To this, he responds, “I can touch you all I want.” The man then tells her that she’s on “private property” and they can call police to remove her from the property.
As Lai is explaining to him that he doesn’t own the property, the condo employee puts his hands on her. She screams, “Don’t touch me! Don’t [expletive] touch me! What is wrong with you?” There seems to be a physical struggle and then the video ends.
Lai gave a video update on what happened after that. According to her, she was completely unaware of the fact that she wasn’t allowed to park at that property. There were no signs saying that you couldn’t park there. The condo owners deliberately put tow stickers on her windshield so that she couldn’t easily leave the property. After she claims the condo employee assaulted her, she said she called police and he allegedly went to jail. She said she lives close to these employees and she’s worried about what’s going to happen.
Commenters immediately came to Lai’s defense, astounded by how she was treated by these employees. One commenter asked, “Girl, where’s your mace?!” Another commented, “You need a lawyer to sue them. I hope you are okay and didn’t get injured from the incident with the owners.” Another added, “I bet he wouldn’t have the same energy if that was a man.” Commenters continue to share their surprised reactions and opinions on how the situation was handled by the owners.
