Announced during the Xbox Developer Direct, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC later in 2024. This first-party exclusive developed by MachineGames, which previously made Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, will launch on Game Pass the same day it releases as well. The new trailer also showed off a ton of gameplay and revealed the setting. One of the biggest details is that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, firmly placing this game in the same time-period as the original set of films. One of the other biggest reveals confirms something big about the gameplay.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Is First-Person, Mostly

Along with the confirmation that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are coming in 2024, MachineGames also confirmed that the game is first-person. This matches the previous games that the studio has made, although it did specific that there are some instances of third-person. Cutscenes won’t be in first-person and certain bits of traversal, like climbing a pipe or using a zip-line, would be in third-person. That said, the majority of gameplay sequences will be in first-person.

Some of those sequences include combat, which appears to have a stealth-first approach. Indy can sneak past enemies quietly, take them down with environmental items like a shovel, or use his famous tools in certain areas. Indy has his trusty revolver and whip on him, both of which can be used in combat to take down enemies. MachineGames also mentioned that Indy can whip away guns from enemies and use them himself in some circumstances.

The trailer also confirmed that there will be plenty of platforming and puzzle-solving during Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. As for the plot, a mysterious and large man enters the museum where Indy works. He steals an insignificant artifact, intriguing Indy and setting the adventure in motion.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
