An Indiana mother shared a shocking video of a kindergarten classroom left in complete disarray after she says her 5-year-old son went on a destructive rampage at school.

The mother shared a video on Facebook showing the classroom after it had been destroyed. “This is what my kindergartener 5yo almost 6yo son decided to do to his teachers classroom today. I am so beyond tired, his behavior is outta control. Just spent the last two and a half hours trying to get this all cleaned up,” she wrote.

This is what my kindergartener 5yo almost 6yo son decided to do to his teachers classroom today. I am so beyond tired, his behavior is outta control. Just spent the last two and a half hours trying to get this all cleaned up. 😭 For reference he does NOT do shit like this at home, wouldn’t even think about it. I am so upset and angry. His behavior has been a problem and we’ve implemented so many things to try and get in front of it, but ngl 5 days from having a baby if not sooner I just am appalled and bawling my eyes out bro, idk what to do anymore. #Trending #NewsUpdate #kids

She also said that her son does not display similar behavior at home, describing how the situation left her “so upset and angry.” The situation was particularly difficult for her because she was pregnant and only five days away from giving birth. “I just am appalled and bawling my eyes out bro, idk what to do anymore,” she wrote.

In the video, the mother walked through the classroom surveying the aftermath. Crayons, books, and other school supplies were scattered across the floor, while other parts of the room had been left in disarray.

“Oh my God,” she whispered before calling out to her son. “This is the most disrespectful thing I think you have ever done.”

Pins and books were also scattered across the floor. The mother then called out to her son and told him, “This is the most disrespectful thing I think you have ever done.” The rest of the video showed more of the damage the boy had caused throughout the classroom.

Indiana Mom Says Son Faced Consequences After Classroom Destruction

After receiving backlash online over what her son did, the mother provided additional context about the situation. She said her son’s teacher is “an absolute gem” and has been working closely with her and the school administration, including the principal, to address his behavior since the school year began.

She emphasized that the incident was “in no way her [the teacher’s] fault” and said they helped clean up the classroom, with her son cleaning for about 30 minutes before she and another teacher joined in. The mother explained that her son does not behave this way at home and believes he may act out at school because being removed from class or sent home could feel like a “reward” to him.

The mother also said her son has a pediatrician appointment scheduled for September 9, where she plans to show the video and discuss how to move forward. She said she would also ask about medication, noting that her son will not turn six until October 6. The mother wondered whether the upcoming arrival of a new sibling could also be contributing to his behavior.

In another update, she said she was five days away from her due date and was not currently working. She had reached out to local Buy Nothing groups to replace items her son had destroyed, including crayons, puzzles and a tote. The mother said she had already obtained most of the replacements and told the teacher that they planned to replace the damaged items so she would not have to spend her own money.

Indiana Mom’s Latest Update

In another post, the mother said she never expected the video to go viral and asked people to avoid judging her as she works to get her son help. She described the incident as his first episode of extreme destructive behavior. She stressed that her son has not yet been evaluated for the cause of the behavior, but said she plans to discuss the incident with his pediatrician. She wondered in her post whether ADHD, autism, emotional dysregulation, or another issue could be contributing to what happened. She emphasized that she was not making excuses for his behavior, explaining that she made him clean up, helped him write an apology, took him to gather replacement items, and imposed strict consequences at home.

‘He Should Be Expelled’: Viewers Stunned by Destroyed Kindergarten Classroom

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers were left outraged after seeing the chaos caused by the Indiana mother’s son. Several people believed that he should face serious consequences for the damage. “He should be expelled and the parents responsible for anything broken and they should have to clean it up,” one person wrote. Another person said, “The poor teacher probably spent a lot of her own money to decorate and supply that classroom. On top of that, teachers don’t get paid that well.”

More people criticized the boy’s behavior, with some questioning the mother’s claim that he does not behave similarly at home. “‘He doesn’t do this at home’ – famous words all teachers know are lies,” one person wrote. The mother pushed back on that assumption in her follow-up, saying this was the first time her son had displayed destructive behavior this extreme. She acknowledged that something was clearly wrong but said she was trying to determine what was behind it rather than excuse what he had done.

Another person said, “I find it hard to believe he has never done anything like this before.” Someone else added, “DONT return him to that lady class homeschool him since he doesn’t ‘act’ like this at home.”

Despite the criticism, the mother made clear that she isn’t brushing off what her son did. She says he helped clean the classroom, wrote an apology, went with her to replace damaged supplies, and faced consequences at home. What she still doesn’t know is why a child she says doesn’t behave this way at home suddenly left his kindergarten classroom in such chaos. She hopes to begin answering that question when she takes the video to his pediatrician on September 9.
