Typically, Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion for teenagers and adults alike to show each other affection with chocolates and other heartfelt gifts. However, one 18-year-old Trinity Shockley from Mooresville, Indiana, had infinitely more sinister plans to celebrate this romantic holiday. With reportedly having access to an AR-15 rifle, Shockley was plotting to perform a mass shooting at Mooresville High School, the very same institution that raised money for her after she suffered severe injuries from a car accident in 2022.
“You never know and could die at any minute,” Shockley told the police, according to documents obtained by Fox 59. She claims to dislike people who “think they are better than everyone else” and that “people should value their everyday life.” The shocking thoughts of wanting to “kill” and “wipe away people from humanity” were apparent in entries she made back in December 2024. “You may believe that I am some edgelord, but in reality, I am just a loser,” she expressed. She continued with some rather disturbing statements:
“I am grateful for my chance to live but in reality, I am scared of living. Is it the government you ask? No. It is this sad reality of living with piece(s) of s***… I hope whoever reads this takes acknowledgment and maybe use it for your massacre. :)”

Thankfully, someone caught wind of the Indiana teenager’s plans for a school shooting and contacted the FBI, which led to her arrest. She reportedly had ordered a bulletproof vest in anticipation of the event and chose Valentine’s Day as the date in honor of the mass shooting that happened at the Florida Parkland High School in 2018. Nikolas Cruz, the shooter involved in the massacre, was Shockley’s obsession. She claims she is sexually attracted to the mass shooter and even attempted writing to him while he was in prison.
Needless to say, followers of this harrowing Indiana news report were shocked by Shockley’s confessions to the police but relieved she was promptly arrested. Many believe her behavior and desire for bloodlust were directly connected to the head injury she suffered from the car accident in 2022. “My guess is she had a traumatic brain injury that has affected her behavior and personality,” expressed one commenter. “Thank you law enforcement for preventing this.” Another seconded the theory, claiming that “head injuries can do terrible things to the mind of a person.”
Other commenters were in disbelief and utter disgust at Shockley’s plotting. “This is one demon-possessed generation,” an agitated individual said. “America’s beyond help,” expressed another. “Children of the Corn character right there,” joked a third. That said, regardless of whether this aspiring mass shooter had a head injury to blame, the authorities did an excellent job of preemptively stopping a potential catastrophe from happening.
