The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has arrived for players who have purchased the bundle that also includes the recent Teal Mask DLC. On top of the conclusion to the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero storyline, the new DLC also includes a number of new and returning Pokemon that brings the total number available in Gen 9 up to well over 700. For the “Returning Pokemon” sections, legacy evolutions and baby forms given to Pokemon from previous generations will be grouped with their evolutionary lines for the sake of organization.
All Missing Starters
It was excitingly confirmed sometime before the Indigo Disk’s release that every starter Pokemon not already added to Scarlet and Violet is coming to this DLC. That includes 11 different evolutionary lines that haven’t yet been made available to catch in the games or transfer in via Home.
- Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venasaur
- Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise
- Chikorita, Bayleef, Meganium
- Totodile, Croconaw, Feraligatr
- Treecko, Grovyle, Sceptile
- Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken
- Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert
- Snivy, Servine, Serperior
- Tepig, Pignite, Emboar
- Litten, Torracat, Incineroar
- Popplio, Brionne, Primarina
New Gen 9 Pokemon in Indigo Disk
A handful of new Pokemon, mainly Paradox forms, had already been confirmed prior to the Indigo Disk’s release. However, now that it’s here, a number of other new Pokemon have also been found. The Teal Mask DLC didn’t wind up really containing any new Pokemon other than what had already been teased, save for the exception of Poltchagiest’s evolution Sinistcha, so it’s great to get even more new Gen 9 additions here.
- Archaludon
- Hydrapple
- Gouging Fire
- Raging Bolt
- Iron Boulder
- Iron Crown
- Terapagos
- Pecharunt
Returning Gen 1 Pokemon
The generation that started it all sees the highest number of inclusions of all the generations, with Pokemon returning in The Indigo Disk. Game Freak always likes to favor this generation, and this situation is no different, with a number of different lines included, including the Scyther line that brings another Legends: Arceus exclusive into Scarlet and Violet.
- Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Bellossom
- Doduo, Dodrio
- Venonat, Venomoth
- Seel, Dewgong
- Exeggute, Exeggutor
- Tyrogue, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop
- Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Rhyperior
- Magby, Magmar, Magmortar
- Happiny, Chansey, Blissey
- Scyther, Scizor, Kleavor
- Lapras
- Horsea, Seadra, Kingdra
Returning Gen 2 Pokemon
Gen 2 isn’t getting much love in The Indigo Disk. The addition of the Totodile and Chikorita lines is certainly welcome, but outside of starters, only a handful of Pokemon from Johto made it into the DLC’s terrarium. This means every single painting primate Pokemon (Of which there are two, strangely enough) is present Scarlet and Violet, though.
- Skarmory
- Smeargle
Returning Gen 3 Pokemon
Gen 3 got some fairly confusing additions from the Hoenn region and simultaneously a few that could be game-changing for the competitive meta. Flyon and Metagross have wreaked havoc in the past, and it will be interesting to see how they match up against popular Gen 9 picks.
- Trapinch, Vibrava, Flygon
- Plusle, Minun
- Zangoose
- Seviper
- Beldum, Metang, Metagross
Returning Gen 4 Pokemon
The Sinnoh generation really only got its extinction Pokemon added to The Indigo Disk. It is notably the only older generation that didn’t have any of its starters added since they were already all present prior to this DLC’s release.
- Cranidos, Rampardos
- Shieldon, Bastiodon
Returning Gen 5 Pokemon
Gen 5 got a solid amount of attention in the new DLC with a number of strong lines that could be hot picks for the new competitive meta. Pokemon like Reuniclus were major competitive threats back in the day and could come right back now that it’s included again.
- Blitzle, Zebstrika
- Minccino, Cinccino
- Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus
- Golett, Golurk
- Sandile, Krokorok, Krookodile
- Drilbur, Excadrill
- Scraggy, Scrafty
Returning Gen 6 Pokemon
Game Freak is admittedly limited in its Gen 6 options since so few new Pokemon came with X and Y, but thankfully, a couple of lines were still added. Also, they did bring back the Sun and Moon mechanic that requires holding the system upside down to get Inkay to evolve into Malamar.
- Espurr, Meowstic
- Inkay, Malamar
- Cottonee, Whimsicott
Returning Gen 7 Pokemon
Gen 7’s Indigo Disk lineup was looking fairly weak prior to the DLC’s launch, with only the Toucannon line being previewed. Thankfully, a number of other interesting picks from Alola have also been included, making it the first time many of these Pokemon have jumped off the 3DS.
- Pikipek, Trumbeak, Toucannon
- Dewpider, Araquanid
- Comfey
- Minior
Returning Gen 8 Pokemon
Gen 8 only got a couple of additions in The Indigo Disk. Duraludon is obvious since one of the new Pokemon is an evolution of this one. Milcery and Alcremie is a strange addition, but not an unwelcome one, and it’s interesting to see a fairly strong Alcremie used as a support during one of the Elite Four battles in the terrarium.
- Milcery, Alcremie
- Duraludon
