A new trailer and an official launch date have finally been given for the upcoming Indivisible, the hand-drawn 2D-animated Action RPG from the developers of Skullgirls, with the game now planned to launch on October 8th this year.
Indivisible was first announced back in 2015, where it accrued several million dollars of funding through a successful Indiegogo campaign. The game is being developed by Lab Zero Games, the same studio behind the hand-drawn fighting game laden with ladies that was Skullgirls, and this will be their second grand effort. The story follows a young woman named Anja, who after having her Village destroyed, seeks revenge on the party responsible. She also finds herself able to absorb the essences and abilities of those around her and recruits many new allies in her quest for justice.
A post on the game’s official website describes the events of Indivisible in a bit more detail:
Indivisible is an action RPG / platformer featuring stunning hand drawn art and animation combined with unique real-time combat mechanics. Immerse yourself in a fantastical world with dozens of playable characters, a rich storytelling experience, gameplay that’s easy to learn but difficult to master, and the trademark razor-sharp quality that Lab Zero Games is known for!… The game’s huge fantasy world, characters and aesthetic design are inspired by various cultures and mythologies. Throughout Ajna’s quest she’ll encounter many “Incarnations”: people whom she can absorb and manifest to fight alongside her. There are many Incarnations to recruit, each with their own story and personality. By uniting people from faraway lands, Ajna will learn about herself, the world she inhabits, and most importantly, how to save it.
The game will feature a combination of gameplay elements from turn-based RPGs, Action RPGs, and platformers, with strategic battles mixed with jumping and exploring gameplay. The game will also feature cameos from other indie games in the form of more incarnations to summon, including Shovel Knight, Shantae, and many more.
Indivisible is planned for release on October 8th.
