A TikTok video with more than 4 million views has left many netizens, particularly women, outraged after an Idaho husband was filmed doing what many parents consider unforgivable: waking up a fussy baby who had finally fallen asleep. According to the clip, the man was driving his family home when his wife, who was seated in the back with their sleeping baby, suggested that they keep things quiet once they reached their driveway. Apparently, the child had struggled to sleep for several days, which made the mother especially determined not to ruin the moment.
The woman explained to her husband that if they arrived home and the baby was still asleep, it would be best not to open any doors and that, if necessary, they could even eat their food inside the car. She also said she did not care if they remained there for hours or days, as long as the baby stayed asleep.
However, her husband immediately pushed back on the idea, telling her he did not plan to sit in the car. Even after she reminded him how difficult the past few days had been regarding the baby’s lack of sleep and pleaded with him not to disturb the moment, the husband laughed and said he would take care of the baby if she woke up.
More on What Happened
When the car finally came to a stop, the man either completely forgot his wife’s request to be quiet or outright dismissed it and unbuckled his seatbelt loudly. Shocked, the woman asked him again to move quietly, but he refused. She then repeated her earlier suggestion that they eat in the car and turn it into a “picnic,” but he rejected it, pointing out that they did not have utensils.
It was after he exited the vehicle and slammed the car door, twice, that the baby woke up. The mother tried to stay calm, smiling at the baby and whispering that she loved her, but within moments, the child’s loud cries filled the car. It didn’t help that when the husband returned, he told the visibly overwhelmed woman, “You woke her up,” effectively shifting the blame onto her.
Here’s How Netizens Are Reacting to the Idaho Husband’s Actions
In the comments, viewers expressed strong reactions to the husband’s behavior, pointing out several moments they felt showed a clear disregard for the situation. One person noted that he said “no” when asked to unbuckle quietly, refused to eat in the car, and slammed the door twice, concluding that “he doesn’t care.”
Someone else wrote, “He doesn’t care about being loud because he doesn’t have to deal with it.” Another remarked, “He think[s] your distress is funny.” A fourth added, “I’ve never met you and I can see the desperation and tears in your eyes. This man in front of you literally said, ‘I don’t care about your feelings.’”
Other netizens left comments like, “I know you probably think he didn’t do it on purpose, but sweetie, he did,” and, “Bring me back when she divorces him.”
