Sony has always remained a solid hold on the Spider-Man trademark rights, whether a film or video game. Most significantly was the exclusivity rights Sony used in Marvel’s Avengers. Keeping the character specifically on the PlayStation platform drew some criticism. This move followed the already released Spider-Man game developed by Insomniac for PS4. Taking a modern look at a Spider-Man title, fans adored the game for its reimagining. While Sony has been busy placing some of their hotter titles on PC, many have been awaiting some specific games. While fans will desperately want the latest PS5 exclusive releases, they’re working to deliver their PlayStation 4 catalog first. With God of War finally released and working to great effect, the time is right for a new port. In collaboration with Nixxes, Insomniac Games is finally ready to bring Spider-Man Remastered to the PC. Announces at this month’s state of play event, Insomniac revealed Spider-Man Remastered will launch on PC this summer.

When Does Spider-Man Remastered Release On PC This Summer?
While the news is a surprise, it follows Sony’s track record so far of releasing older experiences first. While many have been expecting some of the PS5 games on PC, there are still plenty of PS4 games. Fans are eager to hear about From Software’s Bloodborne every time a State of Play is announced. Not without good reason as the title is sure to receive some love in a PS5-related patch or PC release soon. It seems that Sony isn’t holding their PC ports back with new titles coming to the platform bringing in more diverse player bases. There’s certainly much more hope now for more PS4 games to see the release on PC, thanks to Nixxes. Insomniac’s Spider-Man Remastered launches for PC on August 12th through the Epic Games Store and Steam.
