People do several things in the gym, but eating out of a treadmill cup holder is a different sight, as is the case with this Indianapolis, Indiana, woman. She was recorded showing off her multitasking skills by eating a spicy meal bowl out of the treadmill cup holder while working out at a Planet Fitness location. The clip went viral on Facebook. With the person behind the camera encouraging her, she took out some chips and took a big bite.

When she was going in for the second bite, the person behind the camera encouraged her to show how big the bite was and let viewers know that they were “working out and eating good.” After a few moments, the woman on the treadmill picked up her pace while still eating. At the end of the clip, she happily pointed out that she had hit her goal as she took the final bite.

Public Backlash Erupts As Netizens Debate The Woman’s Gym Etiquette

The comment section of the viral clip was filled with a mix of dark humor, absolute disbelief, and profound concern about hygiene. The reactions highlighted a deep divide among the online community. While some viewed it as an amusing act of multitasking, the majority dissected public etiquette and the need to balance the absurdity of viral stunts against the unhygienic realities of a shared space such as the gym.

A disgusted individual immediately questioned the woman’s past standards, writing, “You definitely ate off the ground before.” Another bluntly renamed the meal to “Hand, foot, mouth disease spicy bowl,” emphasizing the extreme medical risks associated with the stunt. Many others shared the sentiment on the severe lack of cleanliness found in a public gym, while this frustrated user called out the total lack of respect or consideration for other users with the sight or the smell.

Some critical users blamed the entire stunt on the increasing need for viral moments. One noted that the pursuit of attention is more addictive than hard drugs, while another described the video as the consequence of raising a generation dependent on social media approval, saying they would literally swallow germs to boost their views. On the other hand, a handful of viewers found the clip entertaining. An observer admitted to finding a guilty pleasure in the sheer absurdity of the clip. Another supportive viewer praised the woman’s multitasking abilities, pointing out the humor in the situation: “She’s out here crushing her walk while her cup holder is absolutely stuffed with a loaded spicy bowl. Burning calories and eating them at the same time. Iconic.”
