The trailer for Interview with the Vampire season two was released Friday during Comic-Con. The trailer introduces us to a new Claudia, with actress Delainey Hayles taking over the role previously played by Bailey Bass. The show stars Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, who shares with journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) the details of his shared life with his maker Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Seduced and transformed by Lestat, Louis’s relationship with his maker was complicated in season one by the teenage vampire Claudia, also transformed by Lestat. Having double-crossed Lestat in season one, season two teases them seeking refuge in a new coven. However, it looks like Lestat isn’t that easy to escape.

The trailer for Interview with the Vampire season two has been released even though production on the season has paused due to the SAG strike. While the show is filmed outside of the U.S. with a mostly international cast, some of the shows are SAG members, forcing AMC to pause filming of the show. Regardless, we still got this look at the upcoming season of the acclaimed series.
Interview with the Vampire is based on the late author Anne Rice’s bestseller from 1976. It was originally adapted into a 1994 movie starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst. The rights to Rice’s works are now owned by AMC. Along with Interview with the Vampire, AMC has adapted Rice’s Life of the Mayfair Witches trilogy into a series.
The first season of Interview with the Vampire was critically praised, and fans have been eager to see what season two has to offer. One thing’s for sure: just like Louis and Claudia, viewers have not seen the last of Lestat. Sam Reid told Entertainment Weekly he will remain a “haunting presence” this upcoming season.
Interview with the Vampire is set to return to AMC in 2024.
