Nowadays, intoxicated people in New York are as common as alligators in Florida. It is a staple of The Big Apple and one that many, unfortunately, have to live with. Recently, one Redditor caught a shocking video of a man who was so intoxicated that he ended up on the tracks of the New York subway. While it is undoubtedly a dangerous situation, nothing bad happened. This man was lucky enough that there were people around him willing to get him out of this precarious spot.
While blurry, the video clearly shows an intoxicated man on the subway in Manhattan, New York. What the man had consumed is uncertain, but it is a fact that he was not in his right mind. Fortunately, a lot of bystanders were around him to help him get off the tracks.
After the one filming shouts at the man, the video cuts, and we see police officers arriving to pull the man away from danger. Also, it seems there was plenty of time to inform the subway staff because you can observe that the subway stopped before reaching the individual.
The alarming part is that this man was highly intoxicated and roaming the streets of New York. As I said earlier, this might be normal, but the fact that authorities don’t do anything to stop them is worrying. Furthermore, this man might’ve fallen on the tracks, but in a worse scenario, he could’ve pushed someone in.
At the time of writing, authorities have yet to disclose what happened with the individual. But by the looks of it, he might’ve been detained for a while due to public intoxication. In the end, it is nice to see a subway incident ending on a somewhat positive note. No one was harmed, and beyond the disorderly conduct, everyone acted quickly to rescue this person.
