Apple is set to add another iPhone model to its already diverse catalog. The iPhone 5se ‘Special Edition‘ will see a smaller version of the iPhone 6s but maintain the modern specifications.
The rumor comes from 9To5Mac and states that the iPhone 5se will replace the current iPhone 5s. The phone will feature a smaller 4” screen and “will mostly retain the 5s’s design and still include a headphone jack…”
The new model will feature a few new upgrades from the 5 series such as the A8/M8 chip from the iPhone 6, an 8-megapixel camera, NFC support for Apple Pay and include the same color options as the recently released iPhone 6s. One key missing feature will be the touch sensitive screen which Apple has included with its latest models.
The article continues by saying that “The new device is currently in production overseas and is planned for a March introduction ahead of a late March or early April release.”
This news comes a few days after a rumor was circulating the web in regards to an iPhone 6c which also contained a smaller screen. That rumor has now been debunked and the iPhone 5se is expected to be announced alongside the Apple Watch 2 in March.
