It seems that the United States hasn’t been this divided in decades. Every day, more protests are launched, and protests against those protests follow suit. In certain States, especially the ones near this country’s borders, the sentiment is especially spicy. One Michigan citizen theorized a potential what-if scenario that involved joining with a lot of support from their peers.
In a post shared by Exaskryz on the r/Michigan Reddit page, they posted a picture of the State emblazoned with the Canadian National Flag and the big, bold red font words Province Eleven next to it. Then various Reddit posters jumped in to either agree, disagree, or make jokes at Ohio’s expense for the most part which is always pretty amusing.
Here is what most of them had to say about the possibility of joining our northern neighbors.
“Hey if it makes it so we can have a boarder wall against Ohio I’m OK with this.”
“Hear me out… I’m Minnesotan…. We team up take northern Wisconsin to connect the UP to MN…. We can make it the Rivera of the Midwest, then we join Canada as one.”
“Will Mexico pay for this wall?”
The spiciest comment had a plan for the entire country.
“Canada gets Michigan and Alaska ,Greenland gets California, Mexico takes back Texas. It’s a good system. Help the US get to a manageable size.”
Of course, actually leaving the country and joining anybody else would kind of lead to a civil war, and we all know the last time one of those things happened, it wasn’t exactly a good time. So, protests in the state will continue, but this fan mockup will continue to remain just that, for now at least, a fan mockup. Unless Trump gets his wish and forces Canada to join us, I doubt that will ever happen.
