In this case, we’re talking about one particular school bus driver in New York, who irresponsibly ran a red light while on duty. While doing this in any situation is always bad, ignoring a red light with kids on board is much worse, and we can only hope this driver won’t get behind the wheel for a very long time.
The dashcam footage shows the event that happened not long ago on the streets of New York. As you can see, the street wasn’t that crowded today. However, the school bus driver, who was at the front, decided to hit the gas when the light was still red. Fortunately, no other vehicles were approaching, allowing the bus to reverse and avoid a possible accident. Still, it was something completely irresponsible.
If you look closely, you can observe two facepalm-inducing things. First, it seems the school bus driver realised that the light was red as they were driving through the street. At this point, they reverse the vehicle to correct their avoidable mistake. However, the other thing that makes us grind our teeth is the fact that the vehicles behind the school bus start moving forward, meaning that they also ignored the red light. If a car had been coming toward the bus, those vehicles behind it would have blocked the bus’s path, probably causing an accident as well. While the school bus driver is the one who made the biggest mistake, the truth is that others are just as irresponsible.

Ultimately, it is alarming to see someone like this in charge of a school bus. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it is one of those few shocking situations where everyone was extremely lucky.
