The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to cameo appearances, and fans are starting to believe that one actor might be popping up in Loki season two, Andrew Garfield. He is of course known for his roles in The Social Network and Tick, Tick… Boom!, as well as his role as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man films, and from Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Loki is a Disney Plus series in which the God of Mischief, Loki Laufeyson (Tom Hiddleston) hops around time. At the end of the first season, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) was responsible for ripping apart the multiverse by killing He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). Because of that decision, all sorts of variants could be running around the MCU, especially in Loki. So let’s discuss the possibility that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is in Loki season two.
Could Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Appear in Loki Season 2?
Andrew Garfield could appear in Loki’s second season, but it is very unlikely that he will. The fan speculation began with an Instagram post by user Agt Design, which you can see below. The fanmade poster depicts Mobius (Owen Wilson) talking to Andrew Garfield’s younger Peter Parker in the Time Variance Authority. This isn’t the only fan art that this user has posted for the second season of the MCU series, as he has posted similar posters for Ben Affleck’s Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, and Deadpool. So, just because Garfield was featured in some fan art, that doesn’t mean he’ll be appearing in the show.
There’s always the chance that Andrew Garfield or even Tobey Maguire could appear in Loki season two, but it seems unlikely. Especially considering the pair just made their return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so if they were to reappear in Loki it would certainly lessen their impact. It isn’t as if Loki couldn’t contain any cameo appearances. The first season saw the return of Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), as well as multiple Loki variants, and even Throg. It’s just that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man probably wouldn’t fit in the show, both because he’s high-profile, and because he’s Spider-Man.
So, don’t be surprised if season two of Loki does have some surprise cameo appearances in its six episodes. This way if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man does show up, at least you’ll be surprised. Just make sure you go into the season with your hopes down for any cameo appearances. You wouldn’t want to be disappointed if there aren’t any characters that pop up for 10-second appearances. You can catch Loki season two when it arrives on Disney Plus this Thursday, October 5, 2023.
