After sharing so much of her personal life over the past year, the star announced on TikTok that she’ll be more selective about what she posts online. Although this doesn’t mean she’s quitting social media, she confirmed you’ll be seeing her a lot less from now on. Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s TikTok message highlights the importance of putting her mental health first.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Wants to Live A Quieter Life
Blanchard made the shocking announcement in a lengthy text post. The mother-to-be revealed that she’ll no longer be “posting personal content” online. She explained the decision came from her desire to live “a more private life.”
Considering social media has been such a huge part of Blanchard’s post-prison life, the news comes as a huge surprise.
After she was released from jail in December, Blanchard made headlines for posting her “first selfie of freedom” on Instagram. In the following months, she continued updating fans about her life on the platform, as well as TikTok and YouTube. From her nose job and smile makeover to her pregnancy announcement and gender reveal, Blanchard has disclosed so many private details on social media.
Unfortunately for Gypsy Rose Blanchard fans, that will no longer be the norm. In her TikTok message, Blanchard explained that she’ll reserve those “special moments” only for her family and close friends moving forward. Her loved ones will be able to see her personal updates on her private TikTok and Instagram pages. Although she shared her username for those accounts, fans shouldn’t bother trying to add her. She’ll only accept friend requests from people she knows in real life.
Luckily, those who wish to keep tabs on Blanchard will still be able to by reading her upcoming memoir, My Time to Stand. The book is set to drop in just a few weeks on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Apart from the memoir, Blanchard will remain in the spotlight through her Lifetime docuseries, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup.
Blanchard’s Pregnancy Changed Everything
So, what inspired Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s social media break? It was all due to her priorities shifting since becoming pregnant. Blanchard explained that taking a step back from social media is what’s best for the “overall wellbeing” of her family and daughter.
Blanchard is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Ken Urker. The couple is expected to welcome their daughter sometime in January. According to Blanchard, she and Urker are “doing very well” and “are in good spirits” as they prepare to become parents.
