Beyoncé‘s first country album, Cowboy Carter, is finally here. The record, which dropped on March 29, features so many exciting collaborations, from Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus to Post Malone and Willie Nelson. After hearing the album’s eighth track “Bodyguard,” fans became convinced Beyoncé secretly teamed up with Taylor Swift as well. But is that actually true? Fans aren’t ready for the answer.
Are the Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Collaboration Rumors Real?
While a collaboration between Taylor Swift and Beyoncé would have been epic, the theory has been debunked. The “Cruel Summer” singer isn’t listed as a writer, producer, or vocalist on any of the album’s 27 tracks. She and Beyoncé also haven’t announced a collaboration on social media either. Although many fans think Swift provided secret vocals on “Bodyguard,” People has confirmed that isn’t her singing on the track. The news is sure to disappoint fans who were convinced they heard Swift in the song’s background.
Despite having been friends for years, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have yet to collaborate. Fans hoped that would change with Cowboy Carter, considering Swift used to be a country artist herself before transitioning to pop. The timing would have also been perfect since Swift and Beyoncé are two of the biggest artists taking over the music industry right now.
Last year, they each made headlines for their huge world tours and subsequent concert films. Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023 and then released her concert movie in October. Meanwhile, Beyoncé began her Renaissance world tour in May and then brought her show to theaters in December.
In just a few weeks, Swift will make her own comeback with The Tortured Poets Department. The record will drop on April 19 and will feature collaborations with Post Malone and Florence and the Machine.
