Is The Day Before Crossplay or Cross-Platform? Answered

Does The Day Before have these features?

The Day Before has officially launched in early access, prompting players to ask if the game will feature crossplay or cross-platform progression. Both of these features have become standard for multiplayer games. The Day Before is an open-world survival MMO, so not only is it multiplayer, but people might want their progression to carry from one platform to the other. While The Day Before was announced for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, it will only be on Steam during the early access period. Here’s what The Day Before developers FNTASTIC have announced about crossplay and cross-platform progression.

Will The Day Before Support Crossplay?

FNTASTIC has not confirmed crossplay nor cross-platform progression for The Day Before. The developer has not mentioned either feature at all just yet, although there might be a reason for that. At the moment, The Day Before is in early access on Steam and it won’t come to consoles until it reaches its full-release. On the game’s Steam page, FNTASTIC said that The Day Before will be in early access for six to eight months, although that could be extended if the game isn’t ready for a full launch.

While this doesn’t guarantee that the game will get crossplay or cross-platform progression later, it does make sense. Since the game will only be on one platform for roughly a year, there is no need for those features just yet. Hopefully, FNTASTIC will let console players know if those features are planned prior to its full launch. The developer has announced very little information about the console versions of The Day Before so far, beyond that those versions are planned at the moment.

The Day Before has been a bit of a whirlwind since its announcement, with fans unsure if the game was real. The reason for this hesitation was that the trailer looked spectacular, but FNTASTIC had not released a game of this caliber before. The Day Before held the honor of being the most wishlisted game on Steam for a period, although it has suffered from multiple delays before releasing in early access to overwhelmingly negative reviews.

The Day Before is available on Steam and is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 later.
