Seeing that Link’s latest adventure expands upon what we saw in Breath of the Wild, many wonder whether the Hookshot is in Tears of the Kingdom. We have seen all the new abilities, new shrines, powerful weapons, and even new locations. We have yet to see the return of iconic Zelda items from the past. And, arguably, the Hookshot is one of the most iconic. Can you find the Hookshot in Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom? Bring forth your Hero Tunic and continue reading to find out.
Can You Find the Hookshot in Tears of the Kingdom?
The inclusion of the Hookshot in Tears of the Kingdom could represent major fan service thanks to the nostalgia that it brings to the table. Not only that, but it could also satisfy Zelda fans that were not very fond of Breath of the Wild and its mechanics. And while using the Hookshot could be great, unfortunately, it is not available in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
And while it may have been a nice addition to the game, its absence makes sense. There are a lot of old and new mechanics from the open-world and sandbox nature of Era of the Wilds that render the Hookshot useless. Since Link has the potential to climb limitlessly, an item like the Hookshot that’s restricted to certain surfaces becomes obsolete. Moreover, the limited length of a Hookshot also adds up to the redundancy of including it.
With new abilities such as the Ultrahand and the introduction of Zonai devices, the gaming possibilities become endless. An arguably limited device such as the Hookshot, regardless of all the care and love we have for it, pales in comparison with machines that fly you to the skies. And we are not even mentioning Recall since it is the perfect way to passively do that as well.
