This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Topaz and Numby are finally in Honkai: Star Rail, and many wonder if they are worth pulling for. This is something normal to ask, especially when spending those Star Rail Passes wisely. With new mechanics, a decent DPS output, and other fun things, the dynamic duo has been the talk of many ever since they were released, so if you’re in the same boat and still unsure about whether to pull or not, we’ll show you the pros and cons here.

In short, yes. While Topaz isn’t the greatest DPS right now, she’s still a fantastic addition to the game, thanks to her loyal companion Numby. The Warp Trotter does the heavy lifting in and outside of the fight. When in combat, Numby is all about follow-up attacks. This is great as it allows other characters to shine in the game, such as Himeko or Clara; the latter is essential in any team comp with Topaz. Another plus is that Topaz is the first 5-star DPS character with good numbers. Sadly, Himeko never reached the top of the charts and is still overshadowed by other fire damage dealers. So, if you don’t have any fire DPS, Topaz is the right one for you.

While Topaz has many pros and is worth pulling for in Honkai: Star Rail, it is important to remember her mechanics. You’ll rely a lot on follow-up attacks and might need other characters with these skills to make the duo shine. If you pull for her, make sure you have any of the following characters:

  • Clara
  • Himeko
  • Jing Yuan

These are the ones that synergize the most with Topaz’s mechanics since all of them do follow-ups. If you don’t have any of them, there’s no need to worry. Topaz can also function as a main DPS if you follow the right build, but she won’t perform as well as other characters who’ve been released recently.
