After a two-year hiatus, FX’s long-running hit comedy series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, will finally be returning for its 15th season. The new season will be record-breaking, making It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia the longest-running live-action comedy series in TV history — a record previously held by The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet. Fortunately, the wait for new antics and schemes from the gang will be over when It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 premieres on December 1 at 10:00 PM ET on FXX (or next day with FX on Hulu).

Season 15 coming soon!

According to details from Deadline, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 will find the gang at a crossroads of sorts. Much has changed in the world since viewers last saw the gang before COVID-19 and 2020 in general. With the world changing so quickly, will Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), Mac (Rob McElhenney), and Frank (Danny DeVito) adapt and fit into the modern world or remain the same lovable dirtbags viewers have appreciated for a little over fifteen years?

Over the years, the gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have run several successful and unsuccessful schemes and shared their unique perspectives on numerous cultural and political debates. From serving minors in their bar to figuring out how restrooms should be labeled, the gang has pretty much done it all and seemingly addressed nearly every cultural question. However, with all of the dramatic, real-world events of the last two years, there is no question that the gang will have plenty of material to explore in the upcoming season: Was Paddy’s Irish Pub open during COVID-19 lockdowns? Is the gang vaccinated? Did the gang vote in the 2020 election? Audiences will learn more when It’s Always Sunny returns to FX with the season 15 premiere on December 1!
