Actor and comedian Jack Black has announced the creation of a new YouTube channel geared towards gaming. You can see his first video down below:

His channel description goes as follows:

“I’m Jack black and I kinda like games”

Short and sweet. I like it. His channel, Jablinski Games, will upload once per week (on Fridays) and feature no production teams. Instead, his son will act as the channel’s editor and director:

“I just want to clarify that there is no production behind this. this is all my son. He’s holding me hostage and I can’t be tracer. help…”

Jack Black jokingly (I think) hopes Jablinski Games will become bigger than PewDiePie and Ninja, two of the most popular gaming YouTubers on the platform. Only time will tell if Black’s venture into the gaming world works.

Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, and Dwayne Johnson are other celebrities who have dipped their feet into YouTube over the last few years. However, Black seems to be in a different place. A Reddit user put it best with this comment on the announcement:

“I give him a pass. Unlike other celebrities it already feels like he’s in the weird zone between mainstream and indie stuff.”

As it stands right now, Jablinski Games is sitting at over four-hundred thousand subscribers. The next video from Jack Black and his son will supposedly be released December 28th, 2018.

Black’s next film project is set to be the sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The 2017 hit shocked movie-goers who had thought this would be another attempt from Hollywood to make money off of nostalgia. Instead, the film was on top at the Box Office for weeks and currently sits at an 87% score from Rotten Tomatoes. The untitled Jumanji sequel is still projected to release in late 2019.

Are you going to watch Black’s videos? What are your thoughts on celebrities getting into YouTube? Let us know in the comments below!
