Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have reunited. On Friday, Nov. 10, the Halloween Ends star shared a selfie with the Mean Girls actress on Instagram. The pair are all smiles as they lean their heads close together. The surprise reunion comes 20 years after they co-starred in Freaky Friday. In May, Disney announced the film would be getting a sequel with Curtis and Lohan returning. Due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production for Freaky Friday 2 has yet to begin. However, now that both strikes are over, Curtis is eager to get things started.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan Are Ready For “Freaky Friday 2”
Freaky Friday originally premiered in theaters in August 2003 by Walt Disney Pictures. In the film, Curtis played a widowed mother named Tess, while Lohan played her on-screen daughter, Anna. The movie revolves around the mother-daughter duo waking up one Friday to discover that they’ve magically switched bodies.
Due to the movie becoming a cult classic over the years, Disney announced in May that a Freaky Friday sequel was officially in the works. Both Curtis and Lohan had signed on to do the film. In July, the Everything Everywhere All at Once actress told EW that there was “no question” the sequel would be happening. However, due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, she couldn’t say anything more about the film.
Until those writers get paid correctly and protected by the producers that make billions off of them, we will not be able to tell you any more about the Freaky Friday sequel, except that it is happening.

The WGA strike ended on Sept. 27, while the SAG-AFTRA strike concluded on Nov. 8. To celebrate, Curtis shared a photo with Lohan on Instagram and said she hopes to “switch places” with her Freaky Friday co-star again soon. She also tagged Disney to let them know she and Lohan are more than ready to share the screen again.
We can’t wait to see Curtis and Lohan back as Tess and Anna!
