Golden Globe winner and film icon, Jane Seymour Fonda reveals that her cancer is in remission ahead of her 85th birthday. In a new blog post, the actress stated that her oncologist told her it’s safe to discontinue treatments.
In September, Fonda announced via social media that she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The 84-year-old star, in the lengthy post, disclosed that she has non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and that she had commenced chemo treatments.
Words do matter, as she maintained a positive confession right from the beginning. Unlike many, the entertainer, instead of being scared, said she felt fortunate because it’s a treatable disease and 80% of people get to survive it.
With pleasure and gratitude, Jane Fonda has come out to announce that her cancer is in remission just before her 85th birthday. Lucky isn’t the word. Blessed is!

Jane Fonda’s Positivity May Have Helped Her Beat Cancer Ahead of Her 85th Birthday
A common word the star has been using since she was diagnosed is “happy” and “lucky.” In her recent announcement, she disclosed that she was elated because her first four chemo treatments were easy for her.
However, the last session was hellish. She described it as rough, and it went on for two weeks, making it hard to accomplish or do anything else.
Jane Fonda, an Oscar winner and activist, also said she was happy that her cancer effects wore off just before her “Fire-Drill Friday.” This will be the star’s first physical appearance for the movement in almost three years.
The New York City-born cancer survivor started the climate-based awareness before the pandemic. She went to Washington, D.C, on Dec. 2 to protest Sen. Joe Manchin’s underground deal.
This deal, also known as permitting reform, will fast-track fossil fuel projects. Unfortunately, it poses a great threat to bedrock environmental protections and limits the public’s ability to have input.
It also throws marginalized communities burdened by fossil fuel production under the bus. The star has been vocal about it, calling readers of her blog to oppose the “dirty deal.”
She’s getting a second chance to keep combating the evil scheme. Jane Fonda also revealed that many have reached out to her with positive news about her cancer remission. She got emails or social media posts from survivors of the same terminal sickness telling her they’ve been cancer free for decades.
For the soon-to-be 85-year-old actress, she doesn’t have to worry about ‘many decades.’ She disclosed in September that just one is fine.
Surviving this illness means one thing. Fonda isn’t going anywhere until she’s ready!
