Eugenia Cooney, a popular TikTok star with nearly three million followers, has long been the subject of criticism for her stance on pro-anorexia. Typically, she will appear fragile and skeletal in her videos and live content, prompting viewers to try and communicate her concerns to no avail. However, just the other day, the Connecticut internet personality ended her livestream after she experienced what seemed to be a medical issue. Soon after, her longtime friend and collaborator, Jeffree Star, also went live, where he revealed that Eugenia was not okay.
Eugenia Cooney has long been the subject of criticism due to her content promoting eating disorders. Fans typically check in whenever she posts a video or goes live to ensure that she’s doing well. However, her latest Live was not the definition of ‘alright.’
Toward the end of the stream, the Connecticut TikToker can be seen coughing and making strange movements with her mouth. She’s long said that she does not cough, likely because her body cannot physically handle it, so her stifled ones are alarming. Since then, Eugenia has posted videos on various topics to her social accounts, telling fans that things are just fine behind the scenes. Realistically, fans knew that things were not fine, with one commenter saying, “nobody ever thought she was ok.“
Shortly after that live video, Jeffree Star, a well-known internet personality, went live on his own account. During the live stream, various commenters criticized his relationship with Cooney, claiming that he hadn’t helped her. This angered him, and he revealed that she was not doing well. This is likely to make him out to be the good guy who is trying to help his friend, but if anything, it does the exact opposite.
Hopefully, Eugenia will take this opportunity to do her fans a favor and get the help she needs. While I don’t know the status of her medical health, I do know that by looking at her, I can see that something needs to be done.
