Jeffrey Epstein is dead, but the world isn’t letting him or any of his co-conspirators fade away into obscurity. Since his 2019 death in federal custody, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender has refused to be swept under the rug in the biggest scandal of contemporary American history. Now, years after his atrocities shocked the world, a new piece of street art in Washington, D.C., demonstrates that the time for justice has only just begun.
Right near the White House in Washington, D.C., people spotted the “Jeffrey Epstein Walk of Shame”, bold stickers that call out high-profile figures linked to Epstein. They look like stars from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, only with Epstein’s face staring out from the middle. People found them at Farragut Square, just a short stroll from the White House. As for who put them there? No one has stepped forward, so for now, it’s a mystery.
Each star shows the name of a politician, billionaire, or other public figure who has been linked to Epstein. There’s a QR code on each one that sends you to articles or public records about their connection to him. In the footage, you can spot names like Prince Andrew, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Gates, and Bill Clinton. Ghislaine Maxwell’s star flat-out labels her a “child sex trafficker.” Les Wexner, the Victoria’s Secret founder who gave Epstein power of attorney over his money, stands out, too.
The internet blew up as soon as the videos started making the rounds. People on social media cheered the installation, calling it a win for public accountability. However, everyone wanted to know about one person: Donald Trump. Even though President Trump has not been officially accused of anything, questions about his old friendship with Epstein keep surfacing. They used to be neighbors in Palm Beach, and Trump once called Epstein a “terrific guy.”
Internet Reacts as Jeffrey Epstein Gets a ‘Walk of Shame’ in Washington, D.C. Park
The installation quickly ignited debate online, with reactions ranging from applause to suspicion. “Finally, a Hollywood star that’s actually earned,” one person wrote.
Others questioned who was, or wasn’t, included. “How come they don’t have trump the man that was mentioned the most times and was very close with Epstein himself,” a user asked. Another added, “everyone’s expecting someone’s name there.”
Some comments broadened the scope of blame. “Celebrities that are involved with Jeffrey Epstein should not be the only one that are shamed. We need to put the investors behind bars too for their crimes!” one person wrote, referencing Jeffrey Epstein.
A few reflected on the symbolism of the display itself. “When the justice system feels incomplete, symbolism gets louder,” one comment read. Another summed up the moment by saying, “A physical Epstein Walk of Shame just went up in Washington. Either someone’s finally forcing accountability or this is peak performance art trolling.”
What sets this installation apart is when it showed up. The Department of Justice recently dropped 11,000 files, that’s 10 gigabytes of dirt, on Epstein, and the people connected to him aren’t just anyone. They include heavy hitters from politics, business, and entertainment. While a lot of them have tried to brush it off, calling themselves naive or saying they got fooled, the files paint a different picture. The Walk of Shame might look like a bunch of stickers, but the scandal it highlights is anything but fake.
