Jenelle Evans has her son Jace back at home with her. On Thursday, it was revealed that Child Protective Services (CPS) officially dropped their charges against the Teen Mom alum and husband David Eason earlier this week. And while Jenelle took to social media with her side of the story, there’s more. In fact, it’s safe to say her husband isn’t out of the woods quite yet.
The Teen Is Back in Evans’ Custody
On Thursday, Jenelle took to her social media channels to share the news. The mom seemed elated that she was free and clear to resume her relationship with her 14-year-old.
My hands are shaking. Okay, so all allegations against me and my husband have been officially dropped. CPS took a voluntary dismissal and I wanted to be the first to let you guys know. I wasn’t going to share this information. I was going to keep it private and give a vague statement but right now, I need to control the narrative.”

Evans went on to say that moving forward, her focus is “solely on Jace’s meant health.”
“I’m not going to give any details about what happened pertaining to the case, but it will be shared eventually and soon. Just not right now because it’s not the best time,” she explained.
Evans went on to accuse “Jace’s father or my mother” of leaking information to the media and made a request. “Right now, I’d appreciate it if everyone respects my son’s privacy so he can get his mental health in check.”
David Eason Still Faces Legal Hurdles
While CPS has cleared David Eason along with his wife, Eason still faces criminal charges for an alleged assault on his stepson.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Department continues to be involved in an investigation into Jace’s third runaway attempt last year, after which he was allegedly involved in an altercation with Eason, with a law enforcement source telling The Sun the situation is “an ongoing criminal investigation.”
Authorities have been quiet about the investigation, so it remains to be seen. Few details are known about the nature of the alleged assault, but as Evans teases, more is soon to come.
