Jennifer Coolidge Wins Second Emmy Award
On Monday, Coolidge bagged her second Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the character she played in The White Lotus. As always, the 62-year-old took to the stage with her trademark humor, giving a hilarious speech. First things first, she put her award on the floor, joking that she didn’t have the strength to hold it. The Legally Blonde star thanked the show’s creator, Michael White, for “the opportunity to play this incredible character.” Next, the actress thanked another unlikely group of people — the gay men who befriended Tanya as a part of their scheme to kill her.
“It’s running out so I just want to thank all the evil gays,” she said to the laughing crowd.
At this point, Doris Bowman, who served as the Emmys’ play-off mama, ensuring speeches were short, stood up in the crowd to remind the gorgeous Coolidge her speech was too long.
“Baby, Baby. I love you baby, but time. Time!” Bowman said.
Coolidge then wrapped her speech with a shout-out to her younger self before encouraging everyone not to give up on their dreams. Jennifer Coolidge’s Emmys win not only brought some comedic relief to the event but also proved how talented the actress is.
